HC Deb 27 April 1915 vol 71 cc576-7
17. Mr. STEWART

asked the Under-Secretary for War whether he can expedite the payment to officers at the front of their field allowances and their allowances for lodging, fuel, and light, as in some cases the amounts due for December were only paid in March, and to officers of limited means the delay in receiving the amounts due causes inconvenience?

Mr. BAKER

Steps have already been taken by the Paymaster-in-Chief to expedite such payments, but these officers should not have suffered inconvenience as they are always allowed to draw advances for their immediate requirements.
