HC Deb 27 April 1915 vol 71 cc575-6
85. Mr. PETO

asked whether any decision has been arrived at with regard to the deduction from the pay of officers in the Indian Expeditionary Force serving at the front for horse rations, grooms' pay and rations, and servants' pay and rations?

The UNDER-SECRETARY of STATE for INDIA (Mr. C. Roberts)

It has been agreed with the War Office that during the present War in Europe stoppages from officers receiving Indian pay and serving with the Force for rations for themselves, their servants and their chargers shall be discontinued, and charges already made refunded. No change has been made as regards officers' liability for servants' pay.
