HC Deb 22 April 1915 vol 71 c429
Mr. BONAR LAW

May I ask the right hon. Gentleman the Prime Minister what the business will be next week?

The PRIME MINISTER

On Tuesday we will take the Second Reading of the Mental Treatment Bill of the Territorial and Reserve Forces Act, 1907 (Amendment) Bill, and of the Police (Emergency Provisions) (Amendment) Bill, and it may be that there will be an opportunity for the hon. Baronet the Member for the City of London to bring forward the question of the treatment of prisoners of war.

On either Wednesday or Thursday—I will not say which—my right hon. Friend the Chancellor of the Exchequer will bring forward proposals for dealing with the limitation of the facilities for drink. On the other day—whichever it may be—we will take Supply, either the Board of Agriculture Vote or the Post Office Vote.

Mr. BARNES

Arising out of the answer of the Prime Minister, may I ask if any arrangement has been made to bring forward a Bill to give effect to the recommendations of the Select Committee on Pensions and Administration of Pensions and Allowances?

Mr. LOUGH

Can my right hon. Friend say whether the Budget Statement will form part of the Chancellor's Statement to the House?

The PRIME MINISTER

No, Sir, my right hon. Friend will make his Budget Statement in the following week. As to the question of the hon. Member for Blackfriars, the Committee have not yet issued their Report.

Mr. BARNES

It has been in print a week.

The PRIME MINISTER

The House should have the opportunity of considering the Report; but I will give facilities for debate on the Report before the passing of the Bill.
