HC Deb 21 April 1915 vol 71 c268
44. Mr. GINNELL

asked the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland, having regard to the pay of National school teachers and assistant teachers, male and female, in Ireland, compared with public servants in other Civil Departments, and to the increased cost of living, if he will say what increase is to be given to the teachers and assistants, and from what date?

The CHIEF SECRETARY for IRELAND (Mr. Birrell)

I regret that I am not at present in a position to recommend any general increase of pay in the case of the National school teachers in Ireland.
