HC Deb 15 April 1915 vol 71 c34
6. Mr. KING

asked whether attempts have been made, as promised, to obtain Irish labourers to supply the deficiency of workers in English agriculture; and, if so, with what measure of success?

Sir H. VERNEY

The answer is in the affirmative. Arrangements have been made for obtaining and distributing Irish labourers through the Labour Exchanges, and farmers would be well-advised to use this agency to a greater extent than they have so far for supplying their requirements.
