§ 6. Mr. KINGasked whether attempts have been made, as promised, to obtain Irish labourers to supply the deficiency of workers in English agriculture; and, if so, with what measure of success?
§ Sir H. VERNEYThe answer is in the affirmative. Arrangements have been made for obtaining and distributing Irish labourers through the Labour Exchanges, and farmers would be well-advised to use this agency to a greater extent than they have so far for supplying their requirements.
