Mr. PATRICK WHITEasked the Secretary to the Treasury, as representing the Commissioners of Public Works (Ireland), whether every new owner of land purchased under the Land Purchase Acts will be an elector for the election of a drainage board constituted in respect of lands before he purchased them; and, if not, who is to vote in respect of such land?
§ Mr. MONTAGUThe Board of Works are advised that a tenant who has signed an agreement to purchase under the Land Purchase Acts is from the moment of the estate being declared "an estate" by the Commissioners a proprietor for the purposes of the Drainage Acts. As "a proprietor" he would be entitled to vote at the election of a drainage board.
