§ 60. Mr. EVELYN CECILasked what effective means are being taken to ensure that the Home camps are supplied with adequately trained cooks; and whether further arrangements can be made for supervision and assistance by expert demonstrators and inspectors of cooking serving directly under the War Office?
§ Mr. TENNANTAs many cooks as possible are being trained at the School of Cookery. In the meantime, in order to meet the pressing need for cooks, steps are being taken to enlist them at special rates of pay, and authority has also been given, where no regimental cooks exist, to engage cooks temporarily.
