HC Deb 18 November 1914 vol 68 cc423-4
47. Mr. HADDOCK

asked the Under-Secretary for War if immediate steps are being taken to line the huts at Seaford from the floor to say four feet, to prevent the draught the men are suffering from while sleeping?

Mr. TENNANT

The first object is to have sleeping huts built for the men to enable them to be under better cover than tents. The question of lining the huts will be taken up later, as it can be done while the men are in occupation.

Mr. HADDOCK

Is the right hon. Gentleman aware that some of the men say that the huts are colder than the tents?

Mr. TENNANT

I hardly think they are justified in making that assertion.
