HC Deb 18 November 1914 vol 68 c443
Mr. BONAR LAW

May I ask the Prime Minister if he will give us the course of business for the next few days?

The PRIME MINISTER

To-day, after the discussion on the Motion which stands in my name (Pensions, etc.), we shall take the Second Reading of the Small Rills upon the Paper 1, 2, and 4, Land Drainage Bill, Land Drainage [Expenses] Committee, and House of Commons (Commissions in His Majesty's Forces) Bill.

To-morrow we shall take the general discussion on the Budget and the remaining Ways and Means Resolutions.

Upon Friday the Reports of Supply and Ways and Means Resolutions, and the Committee stage of Bills on the Paper.

Upon Monday we shall take the Second Reading of the Consolidated Fund Bill and of the Finance Bill.

Mr. JOYNSON-HICKS

May I ask if it is proposed to take the Second Reading and Committee stage of Trading with the Enemy Act (1914) Amendment Bill?

The PRIME MINISTER

It is only being introduced to-day, and I would rather answer that to-morrow.

Mr. BOOTH

May I ask is the right hon. Gentleman aware that Item No. 4, House of Commons (Commissions in His Majesty's Forces) Bill, will arouse a considerable amount of controversy?

Sir H. DALZIEL

May I ask whether the right hon. Gentleman is prepared to move the Adjournment on Thursday of next week?

The PRIME MINISTER

That depends on the progress made.
