HALL (Dulwich)asked when it is proposed to give effect to the recommendation of the Civil Service Commission that the staff of the Public Trustee should be placed upon an established basis; what would be the cost entailed; and whether it is proposed to delay the matter in consequence of the War?
§ The PRIME MINISTERI am not yet in a position to state what will be the decision on the recommendation referred to by the hon. Member, but it is at present engaging the attention of the Treasury. The liability in respect of pensions may be taken to be about 15 to 20 per cent. of the salary charges. This liability, in the event of the establishment of the Public Trustee's staff, will be covered by the receipts from fees.
