HC Deb 19 May 1914 vol 62 c1750
15. Mr. MORRELL

asked the Under-Secretary of State for India when he expects to be in a position to lay upon the Table the particulars he promised with regard to the administration of the Press Act?

Mr. C. ROBERTS

I cannot yet fix a date, but would refer the hon. Member to the answer given on the 28th April.

Mr. MORRELL

Is my hon. Friend aware that dissatisfaction with the administration of the Press Act is continually increasing, and will he do his best to hurry this forward?

Mr. C. ROBERTS

There will be no unnecessary delay, I can assure my hon. Friend, but it is necessary to consult the local governments, and some delay is inevitable.

Mr. KING

Shall we have this information before the Indian Budget?

Mr. C. ROBERTS

I cannot say the day at the present time, but I will do my best.
