HC Deb 19 May 1914 vol 62 c1762
36. Mr. CATHCART WASON

asked the Secretary for Scotland if he has yet received the opinion of the returning officer for Orkney and Shetland as to whether it would be practicable and desirable to hold the election in those counties on one day, as proposed by the Bill now before the House, instead of two days, which have hitherto been found necessary; and if he will endeavour to secure such expression before the Report stage of the Parliamentary Elections (Polling Day) Bill?

Mr. McKINNON WOOD

I think this is a matter for my hon. Friend to deal with in the House.
