HC Deb 19 May 1914 vol 62 c1763
38. Captain MURRAY

asked the Secretary for Scotland whether he is aware that, owing to the deficiency in the balance of the Education (Scotland) Fund, the district education fund for the county of Kincardine, calculated in accordance with the principles laid down in the Scottish Education Department's Minute of 28th June, 1912, is totally inadequate for carrying out the purposes of the Act of 1908; whether his attention has been called to the fact that the school boards in the county have for the last two years received nothing under Section 17 (11), whereas formerly they received about 4s. per pupil; and whether, in these circum stances, he can hold out hopes of an additional Grant to be provided by the Treasury in order that educational work in the county may not suffer?

Mr. McKINNON WOOD

I would refer my hon. and gallant Friend to the answer which I gave yesterday to my hon. Friend the Member for Stirlingshire.
