HC Deb 13 May 1914 vol 62 c1086
8. Mr. YERBURGH

asked the First Lord of the Admiralty whether he has any official information showing that the Austro-Hungarian Government propose to lay down two or more large armoured ships of the "Dreadnought" type to replace the old ships of the "Monarch" class; and, if so, what steps he proposes to take in view of his statement in the House of Commons on 22nd July, 1912, in regard to such further development of naval power in the Mediterranean?

Mr. CHURCHILL

No official information as to the number of large armoured ships which the Austro-Hungarian Government propose to lay down can be given until the Naval Estimates have been approved by the Austrian and Hungarian Delegations.
