HC Deb 04 May 1914 vol 62 c22
36. Mr. W. THORNE

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether at the firm of Jacobs and Gee, Burdett Road, E., the male trouser hands are out on strike because the firm desire to make overtime at home compulsory, in order to make the wages up to the minimum rates of pay laid down by the Trades Board; and whether he intends taking action under the Trade Boards Act?

Mr. ROBERTSON

I am not aware of the facts alleged in the former part of my hon. Friend's question, but investigation is being made into the rates of wages paid by the firm mentioned.
