HC Deb 04 May 1914 vol 62 c8
4. Major GASTRELL

asked the hon. Member for St. George's-in-the-East, as representing the First Commissioner of Works, whether he is aware that carriages are not permitted to draw up at the entrance to the London Museum, Lancaster House, but are obliged to stop some distance away, causing much inconvenience in wet weather; and whether this prohibition is due to an alleged right of way; and, if so, will he take necessary action to remove the same?

Mr. WEDGWOOD BENN (Lord of the Treasury)

The First Commissioner is aware of the facts stated in the first part of the question. The restriction on the access of vehicles does not arise out of questions of rights of way. The arrangements are provisional, and will be further considered when more experience is available as to the use made of the museum.
