§ The PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY to the ADMIRALTY (Dr. Macnamara)Air-locks are fitted in some of the older submarines, but these are entirely different in principle from the patent of Mr. Truss—which I would observe bears the number 15,033/05—and are not based in any way on it. The patent, the number of which the hon. and gallant Gentleman quotes, refers, I understand, to another branch of invention altogether.
