HC Deb 30 March 1914 vol 60 c835
50. Mr. CASSEL

asked the Prime Minister whether the Proclamation relating to the importation of arms and ammunition into Ireland will now be withdrawn, in view of the decision that it is illegal; and whether all persons injuriously affected thereby will be compensated?

The PRIME MINISTER

No decision has been given that the Proclamation is illegal. The latter part of the question does not, therefore, arise.

Mr. CASSEL

Does the right hon. Gentleman say that the restriction will still continue to be enforced notwithstanding the decision?

The PRIME MINISTER

No decision has been come to on the point of law.
