Mr. WILLIAM THORNEasked the Home Secretary if his attention has been called to the case of Mrs. Annie Williams, of London, now lying under sentence of death for the murder of her illegitimate son; if he is aware of the circumstances under which the murder was committed, and that the jury strongly recommended her to mercy; and whether, in view of the health of the prisoner, he is prepared to announce a reprieve in this case?
§ Mr. McKENNAThis prisoner was convicted on the 11th December last. The sentence of death was respited by the Court, and on the 16th December it was commuted by conditional pardon.
