50. Mr. SHIRLEY BENNasked what are the intentions of the Government with regard to the Leipsic Exposition; whether it is proposed to spend any money in this direction; and, if so, how much?
§ Mr. BURNSHis Majesty's Government have decided, on the invitation of the German Government and in compliance with representations made by the principal, associations connected with the printing and publishing industries in this country, to participate in the Leipsic Exhibition, which is to be devoted to the printing, publishing, and allied trades. The Governments of France, Russia, Italy, Switzerland, Belgium, and Sweden will also be officially represented. The total cost to public funds of the participation of this country is estimated at £13,000.
