Mr. THOMASasked the President of the Board of Trade whether he is aware that attempts have been made to fence off parts of the foreshore at Cardiff Tide Field; and whether, in view of the fact that the land adjoining the actual fore shore is tidal land, he will say what steps he proposes to take to restore to the people the full right of access to the fore shore?
Mr. ROBERTSONCardiff Tide Field is above high-water mark of ordinary tides, and therefore is not foreshore over which the Board of Trade have jurisdiction. If the fence referred to by my hon. 44 Friend is below high-water mark, and he will give me particulars regarding its erection, I will look into the matter.
