Resolution reported, "That it is expedient to authorise the payment, out of moneys provided by Parliament, of the sums required for the contribution from the United Kingdom towards a service in the North Atlantic for the destruction of derelicts, for the study and observation of ice conditions, and for ice patrol; and for the transmission of messages respecting ice derelicts or other dangers to navigation, and for any other purposes of any Act of the present Session to make such Amendments of the Law relating to Merchant Shipping as are necessary or expedient to give effect to an International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea, signed in London on January the twentieth, nineteen hundred and fourteen."
