§ Mr. McKENNAThe Act comes into force fully in all county boroughs on the 26th of this month, and the information I have received leads me to believe that the police authorities have already made arrangements to give all constables one day's rest in seven. I will, however, as soon as the date is reached, make inquiry in each case. Elsewhere the police authorities have shown themselves generally anxious to carry out the purpose of the 1710 Act, and, although it has not everywhere been practicable to give full effect to it, much has been done towards giving each man the weekly rest-day.
