§ "That it is expedient to make provision in the Finance Bill for enabling Income 1850 Tax (including Super-tax) in the case of married persons to be separately assessed and charged on the husband and the wife, and for enabling the amount payable in respect of Income Tax (including Super-tax) by the husband or the wife to be recovered either from the husband or the wife or both from the husband and the wife."
