§ 51. Mr. RUPERT GWYNNEasked the Prime Minister whether he is now in a position to say when a day will be given for the discussion of the Report of the Royal Commission on Indian Finance and Currency; and if he will see that this discussion takes place before the Debate on the Indian Budget?
§ The PRIME MINISTERI can add nothing to the reply which I gave the hon. Member on 16th March last. The discussion between the Government of India and the Secretary of State has not yet been completed.
§ Mr. GWYNNEDoes the right hon. Gentleman not think it necessary to urge on this matter before we come to the discussion of the Indian Budget?
§ The PRIME MINISTERI should be very glad to do so, but the communications are not yet complete; they are very complicated.
§ Mr. GWYNNEDoes the right hon. Gentleman contemplate we shall get that information—at any rate this month?
§ The PRIME MINISTERI should be very sorry to give any pledge. We have not yet fixed the date for the Indian Budget.
