§ Mr. HERBERT SAMUELThe Local Government Board have no information on the subject.
§ Mr. NEWMANCan the right hon. Gentleman get the information for me; it is very important?
§ Mr. HERBERT SAMUELIf the hon. Member desires it, I will do my best to obtain the information.
§ 72. Mr. NEWMANasked, in view of the proposed district conferences of local authorities and Government Departments on the town planning and traffic problems of Greater London, if he will consider the possibility of such proposals as the Northern Junction Railway Bill being considered by such conferences?
§ Mr. HERBERT SAMUELThe terms of reference to these conferences would not cover the consideration of proposals of this kind, and I do not think it desirable that the conferences, which are specially constituted for specific purposes, should deal with such proposals.
§ 85. Mr. NEWMANasked the President of the Board of Trade, in view of the reintroduction of the Northern Junction Railway Bill, whether any further progress has been made with the suggestion that a central body should be created or the necessary powers given to some existing authority to consider and provide for the whole of the traffic needs of Greater London?
