HC Deb 24 February 1914 vol 58 c1576
68. Mr. PETO

asked whether a day will be given to discuss the Regulation of the National Insurance Commissioners prohibiting the holding of meetings of members of friendly societies which are approved societies under the Act on licensed premises?

Mr. BENN

As I have previously stated, in answer to similar questions, no regulation has been laid before the House. I have therefore nothing to add to my former replies.

Mr. PETO

Will the hon. Gentleman see that no regulation conies into force until the House has had a full opportunity of debating the question?

Mr. BENN

That is provided for in the Statute?

Mr. WORTHINGTON-EVANS

Does the hon. Gentleman think a discussion after eleven o'clock is a full discussion? Cannot he arrange that the House shall discuss this in the daytime.
