HC Deb 19 February 1914 vol 58 c1121
32. Mr. FREDERICK HALL (Dulwich)

asked if Frederick Haug, of Staverton, Gloucestershire, who died in January last from tuberculosis, was an insured person; if he was at any time, subsequent to his being certified for the purpose of receiving benefit under the National Insurance Act, admitted into a sanatorium; if his death was caused or hastened through the neglect of the authorities to provide proper treatment; and if, in such cases when the promises held out in connection with the Act cannot be fulfilled although the insured person has paid therefor, any part of his contributions is refunded?

Mr. BENN

My right hon. Friend's attention has not previously been drawn to the case referred to in the question. He is making inquiries of the insurance committee, and will communicate with the hon. Member.
