HC Deb 19 February 1914 vol 58 cc1127-8
Mr. MURRAY MACDONALD

asked the Prime Minister whether, before the Naval or Military Estimates for the next finan- cial year are considered by the House, he will give time for the discussion of the Motion standing in the name of the hon. Member for the Falkirk Burghs?

The PRIME MINISTER (Mr. Asquith)

We fully recognise the importance of this Motion, and the strength of the feeling which it represents. We think, however, that the discussion of it could be more conveniently and usefully taken when the House has heard the statements of Ministers in regard to the position of our naval and military expenditure.

Sir C. KINLOCH-COOKE

Can the right hon. Gentleman give us any date when those statements are likely to be made?

The PRIME MINISTER

Very soon.
