HC Deb 19 February 1914 vol 58 cc1111-2
16. Captain CRAIG

asked whether, in the month of August last, a number of printed placards were posted in the north of county Dublin warning all young men not to enlist in the British Army, and declaring that any man who did so was a traitor to his country; whether these placards concluded with a sentence in Irish which called upon the people to drive the foreigner out of Ireland; and whether any- one was made amenable for the posting of these placards?

The police inform me that such placards were posted in August last in the north of county Dublin-Every effort was made by the police to detect persons posting these notices, but without avail.
