§ Mr. BONAR LAWMay I ask the Prime Minister if he has any information that he can give the House?
§ The PRIME MINISTERSir John French reports that he was engaged yesterday against a superior force. He says; that his troops fought splendidly, and that he considers the position and prospect of the Army in the now impending battle satisfactory. He speaks in high terms of the quality and efficiency of the French Regular troops and their officers. My right hon. Friend the First Lord of the Admiralty has a statement to make.
