§ Section three of the Elementary School Teachers (Superannuation) Act, 1912, relating to the Isle of Man and the Island of 101 Jersey (except the proviso thereto), shall, with the necessary modifications, apply to this Act as it applies to that Act.
§ Mr. BOOTHI notice that in this Clause, in addition to the Isle of Man, there is included the Island of Jersey. I presume that is because of the teachers' scheme mentioned to the House some time before, that the Island of Jersey chose to come into that scheme and that the other Channel Islands did not. Is that the reason for the special provision?
§ The PRESIDENT of the BOARD of EDUCATION (Mr. J. A. Pease)That is the reason. There was a conference some years ago with representatives of the Island of Jersey, and they desired to come into the scheme. Therefore this Bill is drawn to include them as well as the Isle of Man.
