§ Sir J. D. REESI beg to ask the Secretary of State for War whether some of the many officers of the Indian Army, who are under orders immediately to return to India, cannot with advantage be detained in order to fill vacancies in the Territorial Force, and elsewhere, and whether he will consider the propriety of making this suggestion to the Secretary of State for India?
§ The UNDER-SECRETARY of STATE for WAR (Mr. Tennant)This point has been discussed with the India Office, with whom the disposal of these officers rests. I am informed that that Department do not see their way to place the services of the officers referred to at the disposal of the War Office.
