Mr. EDMUND HARVEYasked whether the Departmental Committee which prepared the draft orders regulating relief and Poor Law institutions is engaged in preparing any further draft orders other than one dealing with the casual poor; and whether in this case Parliament will be given some opportunity of discussing any such order before it is sanctioned?
§ Mr. HERBERT LEWISThe Departmental Committee referred to are continuing their work of consolidating, with amendments, the Poor Law Orders. On receiving a further Report from them, my right hon. Friend will give consideration to my hon. Friend's suggestion.
