HC Deb 23 April 1914 vol 61 c1092
37. Sir JOHN DEWAR

asked the Postmaster-General if he is aware that a mason, Angus Campbell, was employed by the Post Office at Portree and, in the course of his employment, fell from a scaffolding and was killed; if he is aware that the Post Office authorities have refused to recognise the claim of the widow for compensation; and if he will say on what grounds compensation has been refused?

Captain NORTON

I am advised that no legal liability under the Workmen's Compensation Act, 1906, rests on the Post Office in this case. I understand that legal proceedings may be taken by Mrs. Campbell; and I am making further inquiry, and will communicate with the hon. Member.
