HC Deb 20 April 1914 vol 61 c570
27. Mr. CASSEL

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether the railway charges for carrying pianos from London to Liverpool for export are higher than the charges for carrying similar pianos imported from abroad from Liverpool to London; and whether he will give consideration to this hardship upon Home manufacturers, together with the cases already brought to his notice?

The PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY to the BOARD of TRADE (Mr. Robertson)

I will have inquiries made as to the rates between London and Liverpool. As regards the last part of the question, I would point out that the hon. Member does not seem to have sent my right hon. Friend the particulars for which he asked in reply to the hon. Member's question of the 24th March.
