§ 15. Sir J. D. REESasked what were the results of the last competition for the Indian Medical Service held in London; whether four out of twelve vacancies were gained by gentlemen who are natives of India; whether three more candidates, answering the same description, were found among the eight to whom subsidiary vacancies were allotted; and, if so, whether the bearing of these facts upon the simultaneous examination question is under the consideration of the Secretary of State and the Government of India?
§ Mr. C. ROBERTSThirty-three candidates competed in the last examination for the Indian Medical Service. The minimum number of appointments advertised was twelve, but owing to there being more vacancies twenty candidates were eventually accepted. Of these seven were Indians. The Secretary of State is not aware that these facts have any bearing on the simultaneous examination question.
§ Sir J. D. REESWill the Secretary of State kindly consider the matter, since the cases seem to be in pari materia?
