asked the First Lord of the Admiralty whether the two cruisers which were dispatched to Belfast Lough on or about the 23rd ultimo were so sent by orders to their captains received direct from the Admiralty or by orders transmitted to them through the admiral commanding the squadron to which they were attached; and whether the Board of Admiralty were consulted before the order was sent?
