HC Deb 06 April 1914 vol 60 cc1634-5
Mr. BONAR LAW

May I ask the right hon. Gentleman what business he proposes to take when we reassemble?

Mr. McKENNA

On Wednesday next week we shall take some of the smaller Orders on the Paper. We shall be able to name the measures when we see what progress is made to-morrow. On Thursday we shall take Supply. We shall ask the House to meet at Twelve o'clock on Wednesday for the Adjournment Motion.

Lord ROBERT CECIL

As there appears to be some misapprehension as to what is to be the business to-morrow, perhaps the right hon. Gentleman will kindly repeat his answer?

Mr. McKENNA

Last week I stated the business for to-morrow. The first business to-morrow is the Second Reading of the East African Loans Bill, and then, I think, the Inebriates Bill.

Lord HUGH CECIL

Can the right hon. Gentleman say what Supply will be taken next week?

Mr. McKENNA

I cannot say. As soon as it has been settled with the Noble Lord opposite it will be announced.

Mr. GERSHOM STEWART

Is the Merchant Shipping Bill coining on tomorrow?

Mr. MCKENNA

If time allows.

Mr. AUSTEN CHAMBERLAIN

Will the right hon. Gentleman consider if, some time to-morrow or on Wednesday, he can make a definite announcement as to the date of the Budget? I do not ask him to do it now, but could he definitely tell us before the Adjournment?

Mr. McKENNA

I will communicate with my right hon. Friend.
