HC Deb 02 April 1914 vol 60 c1337
37. Sir GILBERT PARKER

asked whether, in view of the decision of the Nairobi High Court that British East Africa is in effect a foreign state, and that therefore Uganda, Nyasaland, and Bechuanaland are in the same position, the Government intends to make formal annexation and proclaim territorial sovereignty over these dominions?

Mr. HARCOURT

I would refer the hon. Member to the reply which I gave to the hon. Member for East Nottingham on the 26th March. It applies also to Bechuanaland.
