Mr. NEWMANasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he has been afforded an opportunity of reading the final Report of the Departmental Committee on Local Taxation; and, if so, whether, in view of the inability of a majority of the Committee to recommend the imposition of a rate upon land values, it is the intention of the Government to proceed with the policy known as the taxation of land values, with a view to raising the revenue required for the whole or part of the local services of the country?
