HALLasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what sum the Royal Commission in whom are vested the funds derived from the Great Exhibition of 1851 received in respect of the fabric and materials of the exhibition buildings, etc., from the persons to whom they were sold; and if, in view of the educational and other advantages which would result from the acquisition of the Crystal Palace and grounds for the public, he will consider the possibility of arranging for at least that amount to be diverted as a contribution to the purchase of the property?
§ Mr. McKENNAI am informed by the Royal Commission that nothing was received in respect of the fabric and 2215 materials of the exhibition buildings. The second part of the question therefore does not arise.
