asked the Secretary of State for War the number of recruits who have been enlisted for the Regular Army during the months of January, February, and March of this year; and if he will give the figures for the corresponding months of the years 1911 and 1912, showing in each case the average height and chest measurement of these recruits?

The numbers of recruits who joined the Regular Army for the periods in question are as follow:—1911, 8,240; 1912, 9,633; 1913, 8,718. The statistics of height and chest measurement are only furnished annually, and are not therefore available for comparison for the months in question.
