HC Deb 07 May 1913 vol 52 c2042
55. Mr. GINNELL

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer, in view of the fact that the Local Government Board for Ireland have now before them schemes for providing 5,000 new cottages for agricultural labourers for which no financial provision has yet been made, will he say from whom he derived the information that no provision was necessary; and when the necessary provision will be made for these cottages and for others in schemes in a less advanced stage?

Mr. LLOYD GEORGE

Questions on the subject of the administration of the Labourers (Ireland) Acts should be addressed to my right hon. Friend the Chief Secretary. I have nothing to add to my answer on 30th April.

Mr. GINNELL

Will the right hon. Gentleman not say from whom he derived the information which he gave last week to the House to the effect that this money was not necessary, and also, if he refuses to answer the question, when he proposes to provide money for this urgent purpose?

Mr. LLOYD GEORGE

I am not aware that I stated that the money was not necessary.

Mr. GINNELL

The House is aware.
