HC Deb 06 May 1913 vol 52 c1836
84. Mr. HUNT

asked whether one or more of our newest ships of the "Dreadnought" type have had, or are about to have, protection of any sort provided for them against high explosives discharged from above from airships?

Dr. MACNAMARA

I am advised that the disposition of armour is a matter that should not be made more public than is absolutely necessary.

Mr. HUNT

Is any provision made for bombardment from the air?

Dr. MACNAMARA

Tam always anxious to give every item of information that is possible, but this must be always subject to the public interest.
