HC Deb 13 March 1913 vol 50 c392
10. Mr. DANIEL BOYLE

asked the Chief Secretary for Ireland on what grounds the Local Government Board have deprived Mrs. Mary Connor, Ballymacline, county Mayo, of the old age pension granted by the Ballycastle pension committee; and is he aware that her claim to have passed the statutory age is verified by the Census records, and that she has no personal property?

Mr. BIRRELL

Mrs. Connor's claim was disallowed on the grounds that her means exceed the statutory limit; half her husband's means being credited to her in accordance with the terms of Section 2 of the Old Age Pensions Act, 1911. Her husband's farm comprises twenty-six acres, and carried twelve head of cattle, in addition to pigs and fowl.
