HC Deb 12 March 1913 vol 50 c244
42. Mr. ROBERT HARCOURT

asked the Prime Minister whether it is proposed to institute some form of inquiry as to the possibility of hastening or delaying the placing of Government orders for various stores and materials, with a view to equalising to some extent the fluctuations of employment in the industries affected?

The PRIME MINISTER

We are considering the question of appointing an Interdepartmental Committee to inquire into this subject, of which the Government fully recognise the importance.
