§ 45. Mr. CASSELasked the Prime Minister whether he has received any protest from ex-soldiers and ex-sailors who have subsequently obtained established positions in the Civil Service against the rule by which service with the Colours is not allowed to count for pension on retirement; and whether he proposes to remedy this state of affairs by Order in Council or otherwise?
§ The PRIME MINISTER (Mr. Asquith)Representations on this subject were fully considered in the course of last year. The matter is governed by Statute and I regret to be unable to propose any alteration of the law in this respect.
