HC Deb 24 June 1913 vol 54 c957
19. Major HOPE

asked how many one-man range-finders have been supplied to the Army since 1st January, 1913; how many are now on order but not yet supplied; and of what pattern those supplied and under order this year are?

Colonel SEELY

Seventy-six Infantry one-man range-finders have been supplied since the 1st January, some of Marindin and some of Barr and Stroud pattern. The allocation of further orders is now under consideration.

Major HOPE

Can the right hon. Gentleman give the numbers of the two patterns?

Colonel SEELY

I will ascertain them and let the hon. and gallant Member know.

Major HOPE

Is it not contrary to the advice of high authorities and also of the General Staff to have two patterns introduced into the Army at the same time?

Colonel SEELY

No, Sir.
