HC Deb 23 June 1913 vol 54 c796
67. Mr. F. HALL

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer when he will be in a position to fulfil the promise made by him in 1910 to make provision for the equitable readjustment of local and Imperial finance?

The CHANCELLOR of the EXCHEQUER (Mr. Lloyd George)

As has been frequently stated, the Government must await the Report of the Committee on Local and Imperial Taxation before framing proposals on this subject.

Mr. F. HALL

Did the right hon. Gentleman not state in June, 1910, that there was no reason for any delay, and that what was wanted was a readjustment between local and Imperial taxation? May I draw his attention to the speech he made?
